CHARITY

WORK

At Fitzgerald’s we work closely with several selected local charities as a way of helping the local animal community that need Veterinary attention. We have even in recent years started to work with aboard charities.

C4 Neutering Scheme

The 'C4' scheme was established in 2002 as a joint initiative by major animal charities working in Greater London to tackle the problem of too many cats.

There are thousands of unwanted, neglected and stray cats in London, yet this could have been easily been prevented by neutering. The C4 Scheme offer’s FREE neutering for cats within the M25 area whose owners receive certain state benefits, are on a low income or are students. The scheme also includes neutering of stray cats being temporarily fed.

Are you eligible?

  1. You live within the M25 area

  2. You own the cat, and you receive:
         • State benefit
         • State pension
         • Council tax benefit or Housing benefit

3. You are a full time student

4. You are on a low household income

5. The cat is a stray which you have been feeding for at least 14 days

All that is required is for you to call the practice, register your details and complete the C4 paperwork, we will also need to see proof of your benefits/low income/ student status. We also require a £20 deposit before your pet’s neutering will be booked.

Croydon Animal Samaritans

Croydon Animal Samaritans have been helping & rescuing animals since 1974. They have many volunteers working hard to rescue, foster and re-home all animals taken into their care. The charity relies totally on donations and fund raising to support the work we do. They have foster homes in South East and South West London, and Surrey.

Croydon Animal Samaritans work hard to help as many cats under their care receive the best of treatments, starting from vaccinations, parasite preventatives, neutering and specific medical and surgical treatments. As an independent Veterinary Practice, we are proud to work alongside Croydon Animal Samaritans in providing this treatment & also provide them with food donations.
