Fitzgerald's Veterinary Care is a locally-owned and run business, previously called Allpets Veterinary Surgery. Our name has changed but our staff, values and commitment to the wellbeing of our clients remain the same.
With over 30 years experience in veterinary care, we know that your pet is one of the most important members of your family and we aspire to treat them as though they are a member of ours.

Thomas Fitzgerald RVN,A1
Director, Registered Veterinary Nurse and Clinical Assessor
Thomas graduated from the Royal Veterinary College as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2007, having already spent many years working in a veterinary practice. With over 20 years’ experience in veterinary nursing and assessment of students, he has an interest in the care of birds, rabbits and tortoises.
Thomas is delighted to use all that he has learned in leading the practice into a new era and develop the services offered to clients (and their owners). He is joined at work with his team of pugs named Ralph, Reggie and Edie. At home, Thomas looks after two tortoises.
Dr Michael Lockerbie BVMS MRCVS
Senior Veterinary Surgeon
Michael graduated from Edinburgh's Royal (Dick) Veterinary school in 1979. Michael Lockerbie is the longest standing member of the team; he started Allpet’s Catford which is Fitzgerald’s predecessor. Michael owned Allpet’s for over 30 years with many years more experience and took the decision in 2018 to sell the business to another longstanding member of Staff, Thomas Fitzgerald.
Still crucial part of our team he is now our Senior Veterinary Surgeon that many of our clients know and trust. Michael has many experience and knowledge into both the Medical and Surgical sides of being a Veterinary Surgeon. Michael is accompanied to work by Roy the Border Collie who likes to say hello to our Clients at the reception desk.
Laura RVN
Registered Veterinary Nurse
Laura joined the team in June 2019 as a Registered Veterinary Nurse. She trained and qualified firstly as an Animal Care Assistant, then in 2015 she went on to achieve her qualification in Veterinary Nursing with a London College called City and Islington. She joined us from another local independent practice, and we have proudly welcomed her to our team. Laura’s goal is to in the future work in a hospital type setting where she will see more in-depth critical care and emergency cases. Laura has a lovely Tortoiseshell companion at home in her Cat called Hazel.
Amy SVN
Student Veterinary Nurse
Amy joined the team in December 2016. With a qualification of Animal Management under her belt, she aimed to focus on becoming a Veterinary Professional. Starting as a Veterinary Care Assistant, she now is working on achieving her qualification as a Registered Veterinary Nurse, she is currently studying under the College Animal Welfare.
Amy is a crucial member of our team as she is also our main member of the Insurance Department. Amy lives at home with a lovely cat named Archie along with a Tortoise, Hamster & Leopard Gecko.
Monique Woods
Receptionist/Animal Care Assistant
Monique is currently one of the longest standing members of our team, working here since Dr Lockerbie first acquired the practice as Allpet’s; working here for around 30 years! We proudly have her on the Fitzgerald’s team. She is loved and known by lots of our long attending clients. She is perfect for her client facing role due to her caring and compassionate nature with years of experience and knowledge on pet health and welfare.
She has interests in aiding charities deal with the over-population of un-wanted and un-neutered cats in the area.
Cassie
Receptionist
Cassie started working at Fitzgerald’s in July 2019 as a part time member of our reception team. Perfect for the role as she is welcoming and talkative and loves to say hello to all the Dogs that comes through the door. Cassie is the owner of our beloved staff pet Fudge.
For the future, Cassie aims to gain a wider knowledge in the Veterinary Industry and has a interest in pursuing Pet Hydrotherapy
