Cat Vaccinations

Dear Clients of Fitzgerald Veterinary Care,

 

It has been brought to our attention by MSD Animal Health, the company who which supply our feline vaccinations Nobivac Tricat Trio and FeLV, that there is a nationwide shortage of vaccinations. Which we believe to be a possible side effect from Covid-19 vaccination production.

What this means for you as our client and you cat as our patient is that we will be unable to offer any annual booster vaccinations for the rest of the year. We will review this new policy in January 2022.

Please do not be concerned, as the Nobivac vaccination we stock, does have licence to be done up to three months late. Therefore, we will be delaying all annual vaccination boosters by 3 months. For example, if your cat’s annual booster is due in November 2021, then it will be pushed back to February 2022. We will aim to send vaccination reminders for the new vaccination due date; however, it would be advisable for you to make a note in a calendar or diary of the new due date also.

If the vaccinations do not come back into stock by the time your pets three month leeway is due, then it will be required that your cat has to re-start the primary vaccination course again, at the time the vaccinations come back into stock.

We aim to avoid this situation; however, we do ask for your understanding that this is something that is beyond our control and will hope to have this issue resolved by the new year.
